KL Trip - Untitled

Finally the day arrived... A special Sunday... Heidi had forever waited for this moment and hoped to go through this day as fast as possible... The whole household woke up around 6:30 in the morning... The daily routine on a Sunday morning before going down to church was being carried out... Everyone was busy getting ready... Late was not an option especially on this particular Sunday... The reason? It was Father's Day!

After everybody had gotten ready we all went to the car and drove off to St. Mary's Cathedral, located right next to Padang Merdeka... On our way there Heidi's palms started to sweat a little... She was scared... There was something the church committee had asked her to do... And it was beyond her will... Still she had to go with it... When we arrived at St. Mary's Uncle Stephen dropped us by the front courtyard before he went and looked for a parking space... Me, Aunt Adela, Heidi, and Benjamin made our way to the hall where the Iban service will be held...

Heidi and myself looked for seats next to the window which was facing the fountain in the garden outside...

Some place else Benjamin, Heidi's younger brother, searched for his fellow friends to play with... As for Aunt Adela, she was at the entrance of the hall giving out small shirt-liked paper origami that we had made two nights ago...

It was past 8:00 when the service started... We were waiting anxiously for Heidi's turn... She was about to read the Apostle! It felt like eternity for her turn to go upfront... When her name was finally called out, I smiled at her before she headed to the podium... There was a happy emotion showing from her face... She did not have to read the whole 18 sentences... Instead it was reduced to only 8 verses...

It all soon came to an end... She finished reading in less than 10 minutes... When she was done she dashed back to her seat and sighed a sign of relief...

The ordeal was now officially OVER! And we went through the service with special songs for the fathers and also vows from them...

The service ended around 10:15... We had to give way for another service at 10:30... So Heidi and I went out from the hall and met up with Kirstin, Jonathan, and Timothy... Not to forget another friend of them which I did not manage to get his name...

All of a sudden something happened... There was chaos somewhere near us... Being curious we tried to find out what had made the commotion... We were later told that an elderly man had collapsed to the floor... With no reason at all... Just slumped to the ground... People were fanning him and giving him water to drink... In the attempt to revive him back from his unconscious state... When everything was not doing any good to his weak condition some church member called the ambulance...

The place was getting crowded as more and more people started  streaming to the side of the old man... Felling stuffy me and Heidi decided to head outside to get fresh air...

For me, I took this time to admire the newly renovated cathedral... And also the buzzing sounds of the city of Kuala Lumpur...

Took photos of the surrounding area...

Soon it all ended with us taking pictures of ourselves... Minding our own business... Not joining the people inside the church...

Where? In the comfort of the car...

KL Trip - Welcome To Cosmo's World!

It was Saturday morning... The second week of my vacation time in KL... My eyes were still wanting to close and my body wanted to rest for just a few minutes more before I was fully awaken by Heidi's enthusiastic mood... She was delighted with what was in store for us that day... She had a plan for  me... A plan which she called 'Fight Your Fears' plan... Why? We were about to go to Berjaya Times Square! And play at Cosmo's World! And the main reason of going to the indoor theme park - roller coaster ride!

It was always a dream of mine to play the extreme games at Cosmo's World, especially the famous roller coaster... I have heard amazing stories from my cousins, Bradley, Clarabelle, and Heidi, about the fun games available at the theme park... They had already played there... Sadly, I was the only one left to feel the excitement, besides my sister... But I cannot deny the feeling of butterflies in my stomach... It churned everytime I started thinking of that place... Not that I was scared or anything but the way they described to me about the games really made me think twice whether to continue with our plan...

Eventually, with Heidi's constant persuasion, I agreed... So we both did wad we had been doing for the past week - bathing and getting ready... Actually we both wanted to take a cab to Berjaya Times Square but Uncle Stephen offered us a ride because he was about to go to a church meeting... So we all went from home at 1:30 in the afternoon...

We arrived at Berjaya Times Square half an hour later, at 2:00... Once we were there we quickly searched our way in through the main door... There was a car exhibition being held there as well... So I got the camera ready and was about to shoot when the camera had no more power... Damn! I had to buy new batteries... I asked Heidi where I could get new batteries and she told me to go to Cold Storage... So we both went down to the underground floor and went straight to Cold Storage... I bought a packet with four batteries in it while Heidi bought two magazines... Before we walked up to the ground floor we took the time to take some pictures of the cars being exhibited next to Cold storage...

After we were done with the photo session we headed to the ground floor before going all the way up to the fifth floor... There, we went to the entrance of Cosmo's World...

Truthfully I hesitated for a while to buy the admission tickets... But Heidi kept on pestering me... I lost to her and made our way to the ticket counter and got ourselves two adult tickets worth RM35 each... Then, we went in to Galaxy Station...

Heidi bought two tokens for the locker to keep our belongings... Once our stuff had been safely stored in the locker we started our gaming session... Let's have fun!

Our first game of the day - Dizzy Izzy... Basically we both talked throughout the entire game...

Then we played Ooozt's Express... My body ached as Heidi's body squashed upon me due to the force during the ride... Had a little headache when the ride stopped...

Finally we were going for the roller coaster ride - the Supersonic Odyssey... It was on the seventh floor... So Heidi and myself had to go two floors up using a nicely decorated escalator...

When we arrived on the seventh floor we lined up... There were lots of people lining up to play... Our turn came soon after... The ride was not that long actually... We were twirling about in our seats... Once our ride was over I told Heidi I wanted to go for a second round... Heidi laughed at me, saying I did not dare to ride the roller coaster a few moments back and now I was the one bringing her for another ride... And we did!

Having done with playing the roller coaster, we both took a break for a while at Fantasy Garden... We played a couple of games there... Actually those games were for kids but we still played there... After relaxing our mind and body we headed down to the fifth floor again to play some more games...

We played the DNA Mixer... Oh my gosh! It hurt ALOT!

Finally, for our last game we played the Spinning Orbit...

After we had so much fun playing in the theme park we both got out of there and went to Dôme to eat... I had 'nasi lemak' and strawberry milkshake and Heidi had fish and chips and orange juice... While eating we read the magazines that Heidi had bought earlier...

I asked Heidi to call her father up to fetch us by 4:30... Then, after a minute or two, something struck me... We forgot to buy stickers for Father's Day gifts... So we quickly got up of our seats and headed to Borders...

To our despair we could not find what we wanted... And by that time Uncle Stephen was already outside, waiting for us when he called Heidi's handphone...

KL Trip - House Guests

My two ears were greeted by a noise... A shout to be exact... It sounded very near to me as if from inside the bedroom... Wanting to know where the shout came from I opened my eyes... To my surprise, the noise did come from some where near me... Standing there, at the door was Aunt Adela... She was calling out my name to try to wake me up...  And she did... I was fully awake in no time!

I had no idea that it was a few more minutes to 11:00... Then, I remembered that we were expecting guests from Kerteh... Aunt Janet and her family... So, I quickly got out from the bed and went straight into the bathroom... I was scared they will arrive in no time... But Aunt Adela reassured me that they will not be here until 2:00... I was relieved... At least I did not have to rush to take my bath and all... But I still had things to do before their arrival... I did some housework like arranging the house into perfect order and vacuuming... When I finished I gave Heidi a helping hand in removing the end of the bean sprouts and shredding the flesh of the chicken that Aunt Adela had earlier boiled in hot water... Then we both took turn in taking our morning shower...

All dressed up I walked into the kitchen to help Aunt Adela in arranging the food on the dining table... We were having LAKSA SARAWAK! Preparing the laksa and its ingredients while waiting for Aunt Janet and her family... I was in the kitchen when they arrived... It looked to me like it was a girls-only arrival... Greeted each one of them with a shy smile... Wondering where the men were I asked Aunt Janet... She told me Alistair and his father did not follow... So I was kind of dissapointed because I was expecting to meet Alistair... But I was still glad that they came... The more the merrier... When it was time to eat everybody headed to the dining table... As for me I stayed in the kitchen... Keeping myself busy... Only went out to refill my bowl of laksa until Heidi did the job for me...

Talked to them for a while before going back to the kitchen to wash the dishes... Everybody was busy talking outside... So I practically had the kitchen to myself... Got a little help from Aunt Janet's niece... After that, I went to the bedroom to get some rest... With no one else to talk to I turned to my iPod to keep me company... I was listening to the songs when Heidi came in and told me they were leaving... I got out to say goodbye but they already left... So I cleaned up the dining table before taking a nap...

KL Trip - Learning 'Sains'

On the fourth day, I initially woke up at 8:45 but because of my eyes were still in the sleeping mode, I continued on sleeping until nearly 9:30... Feeling fresh I got out of bed and went to the bathroom... Outside, in the living room area, my uncle and his family were busy packing their stuff into their luggage... They were going back to Miri using the afternoon flight... Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Aunt Adela asked me what I want for breakfast... I told her that I would like fried rice... Just plain fried rice... But, she cooked for us all fried rice with long bean and cabbage... It took me quite some time to even eat half of what was on my plate because I had to separate the long bean and cabbage from the rice... I DO NOT EAT VEGETABLES!

After finishing our breakfast my cousin and her parents resumed with their packing... Half an hour later we said goodbye to them... Aunt Adela were to send them to KL Sentral where from there they will then take a bus to LCCT... As always, Heidi and I had to wait for her to come home before going out... So, we both had our shower and by the time she came back we were ready...

Then, we drove to Pandan Indah to pay some unpaid bills... From there, we headed to KLCC and we arrived there around 2:00... We went up to the sixth floor... Our activity - exploring PETROSAINS! We had to queue for fifteen minutes to buy two adult tickets... Because the next entry was at 3:00 we decided to eat... So off we went to the eatery within Kinokuniya... I ordered orange juice with sardin puff while Heidi ordered orange juice and chocoloate muffin...

After we were done with our meals, we went back to Petrosains and had to line up for one hour before we finally reached the Dark Ride, a black vehicle which brought us to the main entrance of Petrosains... The 5-minute ride was full of useful informations it was a surreal moment...

It was a truly resourceful place... One can learn ALOT from the tour...

As for us, we spent two hours in Petrosains eventhough the estimated time to finish circling the entire place was about four hours... We did not participate in most of the hands-on experiences... That was why our tour took only half the time...  From there, me and my cousin went shopping... I bought a black cap from Zara and a home fragrance from Lovely Lace... Went into MNG to find the shirt Heidi wanted but it was out of stock... So we went to the balcony facing the KLCC Fountain on the first floor to rest our aching feet...

After relaxing our feet we went up to Signature to buy food from Mc Donald's... I bought Double Cheeseburger, Fries, and Ribena... Heidi got for herself Fries and Chocolate Sundae... I told Heidi to call her father to fetch the two of us from the usual waiting spot...

KL Trip - Blossoming Gardens

I woke up at 8:30 in the morning of the third day in KL to the feeling of hotness and stuffiness of the bedroom... Took a peak at the air conditioner and it was still switched on... Defeated by my sleepy eyes I went back to sleep until 9:30... After I was completely awake I decided to have a morning drink and I made for myself Milo Mocha... Then, listened my iPod while Heidi swept the living and dining room floor... When everything was done she took her bath...

As I was waiting for her to finish bathing I went and did some ironing... All of a sudden the ironing board fell apart and crashed to the floor... I was still in the middle of ironing my shirt when it happened... It took me by surprise but I just laughed my head off... Finished with my ironing session, I took my shower and got ready to go for another outing with my cousin...

Before we went out the main door I asked my cousin who was staying there with her parents after arriving from Penang yesterday evening whether she wanted to tag along with us... She refused, saying that she was sick... So me and Heidi headed to the side of the road to catch a cab... Our destination - The Gardens @ Mid Valley!

We left at around 11:30 and we arrived there half an hour later at 12:00 in the afternoon... A guy in a complete working suit greeted us with a smile and opened the taxi door for us... We were treated as important persons! I was truly impressed by the services... Then, we thanked both the driver and the bell boy and we went inside... It was not as big as its neighbour Mid Valley but The Gardens sure was a classy place to hang out and shop...

Not knowing where to go from the main entrance my cousin suggested  that the directory should be helpful... So we searched for it and we came across an electronic directory instead of a normal one... We checked the way to GSC Signature... We went a few floors up before we finally reached the correct floor... At first we both wanted to watch Prom Night but I decided not because Heidi would not watch the entire movie... She would only be tucking her head under her arms... Eventually we agreed to watch Iron Man at 1:30 and she had to watch it for the second time... So we bought two Premiere Class tickets... The movie was at Hall 5 and our seats were  A3 and A4...

Since we had another one hour and a half until the movie started Heidi and I went down to Starbucks to have our breakfast... I ordered Tuna Sandwich and Heidi ordered Mayo Bun for herself... As for the drink I just ordered Lemonade for both of us... We ate slowly to kill the remaining time... Busy talking to each other about our lives and other people's lives as well we almost forgot that the movie was about to start... So we headed up and the movie lasted more than two hours...

It was a great movie... Full of fun imaginations that I once had when I was a young boy... A world where our life is taken straight from a comic book story... Flying in the sky and houses that can talk and do everything that you want it to do... But nevertheless such movies bring out the kid in all of us back... So I told Heidi that I wanted to shop at the Robinsons... Since there was a HUGE SALE going on might as well I buy a thing or two... But before doing my shopping I applied for the membership card... Thankfully there was no catch on getting the Robinsons card... And only managed to grab one shirt as we were in a rush to go home...

After paying for the shirt we went across to Mid Valley via the connecting bridge between the two shopping malls... It was a nice glass bridge... From there we took a cab to KLCC... And it COST us almost RM25! Heidi and myself were speechless... We cannot argue with the driver... So we PAID... Putting the situation aside we got to McDonald's and bought for myself Chicken McNuggets, French Fries, and Ribena while Heidi bought  Double Cheeseburger at Signature...

As it was getting late and to avoid the rush hour I asked Heidi to call her mother to pick us up and that we would wait at the ISETAN entrance...

KL Trip - Dashing Pavilion

I opened my eyes to the glaring rays of the sun coming through the window right above my head... Took my handphone and it showed the time - 9:00... It was still early as Heidi was still sleeping soundly in her room... While waiting for her to wake up I listened to my iPod for an hour before I got out of the room and walked to Heidi's room... Talked to her for a while before she took her bath... After she was done, it was my turn... Then we got dressed and went into the living room to wait for Aunt Adela... She was at the local market near her house to do her daily marketing... We were running late as it was almost 12 afternoon but we could not leave the house unattended... Furthermore Aunt Adela asked us to wait for her...

So we waited... After almost an hour or so the house bell rang and there she was, holding plastic bags on both of her hands... Not wanting to waste anymore time Heidi and myself got out of the house and headed to the road side to catch a cab to Pavilion KL... Luckily we did not have to wait for so long when a taxi came and picked us up and sent us to our destination...

Once we were at Pavilion KL, the meter showed RM4.90 and we gave the driver RM5... He wanted to give us our change back but we refused... We told him to keep it... He smiled and we thanked him for the ride... Entering the place, I was awed by the size of the new shopping haven in KL... We searched for the directory on Level 3 to locate the whereabout of GSC... It was on the fifth floor...

As the place was huge, it took us 10 minutes to find our way there... Me and Heidi got ourselves a ticket each for the Chronicles Of Narnia : Prince Caspian movie... The show was at 12:45... As it was about to start we got up the escalator to another floor where all the cinema halls were situated... Ours was in Hall 9 with seats F1 and F2...

After 2 hours and 15 minutes the movie ended... We followed other people in finding our way out and we got down to Level 1 to find something to eat...

Arriving on Level 1 we passed by Food Republic to go to KFC... Once we finished eating we went shopping... Bought myself underwears from Parkson and a fitting black shirt from Topman... Walked around a few more times until we got tired of walking... Then, we decided to go outside and get a taxi home...

Unfortunately for us, the taxi stand was no where in sight and it started to jammed... Scared that it will cost us more if we go back by taxi we had no other choice but to walk all the way to KLCC and go back home with Heidi's father... And to make matters worse there were lighting and droplets of rain.... We had to hurry or else we will be soaked! The distance between KLCC and Pavilion KL was not that far but these complicated situations made all the difference... It felt like hours to reach the safety and shelter of KLCC... We went into the Convention Center and from there we walked to Suria KLCC...

Feeling exhausted Heidi and I headed to Dôme and got ourselves strawberry milkshakes... Then, Heidi received a call from his father and we met him at the usual place...

KL Trip - Blazing Suria

The train ride was nice... Made more calm with the beautiful places outside the window... The train arrived at KL Sentral 28 minutes later... Put my iPod back in my pocket before dragging my luggage out of the train... Had a tough time locating where Aunt Adela was waiting for me... I got lost as I was heading toward the wrong direction which soon led me to the opposite side of KL Sentral...

After calling her for a few times, and luckily my handphone did not run out of battery, I managed to find her... I had to walk to the other entrance that was facing Hilton and Le Meridien... I was being laughed at by her and Heidi for my incapability of finding correct directions to where she was waiting... Then we headed off to her home in Taman Maluri... Once we got there I hurriedly went to the guest bedroom and unpacked my things... I wanted to go to KLCC straight away with Heidi by using a taxi when Aunt Adela offered to send us both... So I agreed!

Aunt Adela dropped us near the ISETAN entrance... As soon as we got out of the car I took a deep breath... I am at Suria KLCC! My shopping destination... I took Heidi by her arm to the famous KLCC Fountain, a place where my cousins and I usually hangout after a tiring day of shopping... Watching the fountain for a while before making our way in... Like we always do, me and Heidi went from the first floor to the sixth floor and all around... I could never get tired of lingering at Suria KLCC... Everything looked fabulous and magnificent... The lights, the stores, and the clothes... Awesome!

After circling the whole of Suria KLCC we went to TGV... Checked out some movies from the movie lists and we decided to watch Superhero Movie... While waiting for the movie time we checked out some shops and did some window shopping... When the movie was about to start we both went straight to TGV and started lining up... After watching the movie we felt our stomach churning... I told Heidi we should eat and fill our stomachs... So we went to the Concourse Area and headed to A&W... I was happy because I have never eaten at A&W before... I longed to try its delicious curly fries and hot dogs and burgers... We both chatted for a while to kill some time while waiting for Uncle Stephen to go back at 6:00 in the evening... Read the magazines Heidi bought from Cold Storage...

When our stomachs can no longer fill anymore food, Heidi and I went outside to seat by the fountain... While we were there something horrifying happened... It was an accidental moment when I turned my head back and I saw this Chinese man taking off his shirt... Then he unbuckled his belt... I thought for a second to myself that this guy is mentally unstable and maybe he could open his pants and underwear right there and then... Thank goodness security guards came to the rescue and ordered the man to put his clothes on...

Worrying for our safety I took Heidi, who was completely unaware of the bizarre situation, inside to buy carrots her mother wanted and some sweets as well... At first she did not realise the reason why but after she saw the man being escorted by the the security then she rushed inside... After we were done buying the groceries we headed back to sit beside the fountain once more... But this time something else annoyed us... There, in front of us, stood a lady who was a tourist, playing her soap bubble... She was like a kid... Even worst! Her bubbles flew toward everybody around her... Heidi grumbled with her idiot actions... But we were soon to be entertained... She was about to get into the pool and play with the water when a security guard came to her and scolded her in front of everyone there...  She was humiliated and her face turned red...

Not long after that Heidi's father called and told us to meet him near the elevator next to Auntie Anne's... So we walked off to meet him...

KL Trip - Day 1 (Part B)

After a 2-hour flight the plane finally touched down at Kuala Lumpur International Airport... It was almost a year since I travelled to KL... The plane stopped and everybody on board started to stand up and take all their belongings from the overhead compartment... As for me, I just sat there until all the passengers walked out and the aisle was empty before I took my luggage and walked out into the aerobridge leading to the main terminal building...

Took my sweet time, observing the crowd walking toward me and past me simultaneously... Walking slowly to enjoy the airport and using the travellator to transport me from different points in the building... It was fun and peaceful traveling alone... At the same I was putting in mind about Bradley's directions on where to get the KLIA Express ticket... As he had instructed me to, I past the area where there were perfumes, toys, and chocolates being sold on both side... A guy greeted me and I told him I wanted a 1-way ticket to KL Sentral... He gave me the ticket and I handed him RM50... It cost me RM35... After getting my change back I went to the luggage area to take my bags...

Suddenly an old Chinese lady asked for my help... She could not find her bags on the conveyer belt or anywhere on the floor... I quickly brought her to a MAS worker and told the worker that her bags were not on the moving belt... So I had to leave her with the attendee in charged and I made my way to Level 1 to wait for the next train...

KL Trip - Day 1 (Part A)

I was awaken by a mild tap on my right shoulder... My eyes were still half open when the sight of Kakak Diana and the Astro watch indicating 5:50 in the morning greeted me... It was still dark outside when I went to brush my teeth... Thankfully Kakak Diana was preparing breakfast for Abang in the kitchen... So I was not alone on a cold Tueday morning... Then, I went straight to the bathroom to have my morning hot shower and prepare myself after that...

After putting all 3 bags into the car and saying my goodbyes to my family, Jack and I started our 10 minutes journey to the airport at around 6:40... My flight was scheduled at 8:20... Upon arriving at Kuching International Airport, I took the trolley and transfer my luggage onto it... Said goodbye to my cousin and headed to the MAS check-in counter... Put two of my big bags on the weighing platform while telling the young lady where I was going and which seat I would prefer in the plane... I kindly asked her to put me next to a window but instead she put me at 7C, which was seated next to the aisle... I was mad with her because I do not like sitting anywhere but at the window seat...

Since I was alone and had nothing much to do I went in to the departure hall... It was when I reached the hall that I had a stomach discomfort... It was unbearable... I thought the pain would decrease after some time but it got worse... I had no choice but to fill my stomach with food and with that I ordered a coke, french fries, and nuggets from Marrybrown... The pain decreased and I did not finish everything... Brought the leftovers along with me and I hid it in my Guess luggage... I walked to Gate 7 and seated for nearly an hour with my earphones inserted before we were finally asked to enter the plane, MH 2713...

Once I was safely in the plane I quickly dashed toward my seat to fight for my overhead compartment space to store my bag... After everything is perfectly stored in place I sat down and took the Going Places magazine and started reading it to fill my time... I have to admit that I truly DESPISE those whom I may call FOOLISH because they, in this case passengers boarding a plane, never can understand these instructions - TURN OFF YOUR ELECTRONIC DEVICES and DO NOT BEND THE SEAT BACKWARDS!

On the flight, I was served with with a breakfast set... The new packaging was eye-catching... I only ate the grapes, the sandwich, and drank hot tea... Althrough the journey the man sitting at Seat 7A kept blocking my view by sticking his head on the window pane... I was frustrated!
